Recently, during a walk in the forest, I discovered something interesting: garden eggs that grow naturally in the wild. This is a root vegetable that is often found in gardens, but finding them in the forest is really a surprise.

Explore Garden Eggs

Garden eggs, also known as Solanum melongena, are a fruit of the tomato family. They are shaped like eggs and are usually white to purple in color. In the forest, they grow on small bushes or low trees, taking advantage of the low light and humidity of the environment.

Harvesting Garden Eggs

After finding these garden eggs, I proceeded to harvest them. To make sure they are fresh, I choose fruits that are just the right size, uniform in color, and have no signs of rot. I gently cut each fruit with a sharp knife so as not to damage the plant.

Great Food Preparation

With the freshly harvested garden eggs, I decided to make it a simple but flavorful dish. Here is the recipe that I made:

Material:

  • 10 garden eggs
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Guide:

  1. Wash the garden eggs and cut them into small pieces.
  2. Heat cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the red onion and garlic, fry until fragrant.
  3. Add the bell peppers to the pan and sauté for about 2 minutes.
  4. Add the garden eggs to the pan and sauté until they start to soften.
  5. Add the tomatoes, salt, and pepper, continuing to cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the tomatoes are tender and the ingredients blend together.
  6. Serve the dish on a plate and enjoy while hot.

This dish is not only delicious, but also offers a unique experience, connecting with nature in a fun way. Finding and processing garden eggs in the forest has become a memorable memory in my culinary journey.
